Rejoicing in Heaven

Luke 15:7

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

I love this passage – and it reminds me how important it is to be an evangelical church.  Jesus reminds us that He is the only way to the Father. John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

If we believe these words of Jesus – than we will be a church family – and individuals – who strive to reach everyone with Christ.  At Mt. Oak – it seems that we are in a season of people being saved!  From Palm Sunday to now there have been a number of people come to the altar to receive faith in Jesus.  Praise the Lord!

Recently while at the cross praying for a new convert I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit so powerfully – I almost thought I heard the rejoicing in heaven as this person opened their heart to Jesus.

Who in your life are you reaching out to these days?  Have you given up trying?  Please don’t – one of those who recently came to faith in Christ was one that many prayed for over the years.  Keep reaching out – keeping trying to present Jesus in your life and in your witness.  The heavens are waiting to rejoice when your loved one comes to Christ!  I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
