Let Your Light Shine

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

I had a friend when I was a teen who put a side light – a search light – on his car (like the police had/have).  It was awesome – we could shine a light in any direction.  We used it to help us see to pull a friend’s car out of a ditch in the dark.  It shined in the darkness and allow us to work to free our friend’s car.

I remember camping as a youth in Boy Scouts.  A flashlight was always a helpful piece of equipment when night-time came upon us.  If we needed to go out in the dark – say to the bathroom or to the shower or to get some water/food – it was helpful to have a flashlight to shine in the darkness.
