God’s Love

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

profileI’ve been married for 33 plus years.  I have experienced real love from my wife as she has loved me through the good times and the bad times.  We have three children and we have loved them through the good times and the bad times.

As much as we try to love those whom we love with everything we have – our love is not the best love going.  The best love is the love that God offers us.  Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Here is today’s passage in partial context.  Romans 5:1-8 – 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

God’s love is the best love going.  My wife’s love is great – but I love her back.  Our love for our children is great – but loving your own is not that hard.  God showed us love while we were still His enemies – before we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior.  God’s love was shown for us while we were still lost.  God’s love is the real deal!  Really!  Avail yourself of this love today by receiving Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
