No Condemnation!

Romans 8:1

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

20140530-104833-38913743.jpgHave you ever wondered – when at the circus – how a little rope and a stick in the ground – can hold a huge elephant in place? The secret lies in the elephant’s training. When a young elephant is trained – they are tied to a huge tree with a strong rope. The elephant will tug and pull and fight to be freed. After fighting the rope and the tree – the elephant learns they cannot free themselves (this may take a long time). Eventually – a small rope staked to the ground with a small spike will provide enough resistance that the elephant – even full grown – will not normally fight against it.

Satan can pull a similar trick on us if we allow him. In Jesus – and for those in Christ – there is no condemnation – according to today’s passage – Romans 8:1 – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Yet Satan tries to hold us back with the memories of our past sins – our past failures. Satan tries to limit our desire to be free from sin – to be free to live for Jesus – by reminding us – constantly – of our past and present sins. If we have confessed our sins – they are no more. 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

DO NOT allow Satan to hold you back or hold you down. If God has forgiven you – don’t allow Satan to keep you in the guilt of the past! There is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way!

    • The hardest thing at times is forgiving ourselves. We can understand God’s forgiveness but fail to forgive ourselves. It is a work in progress. Keep at it – and remind yourself every day that you are a child of God and you are forgiven. In time it will take hold! Thanks for the comment!
