Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:1

Praise the Lord.

We had a wonderful meal yesterday for Thanksgiving. My wife and others prepared it and it was delicious. I praise my wife for such a great meal.

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Saints last Monday night in a well-played game. I praise my favorite football team for playing so well and hope that they win enough games to win their division or at least make the playoffs.

Our youth will be leading worship on Sunday – and one of our youth will be preaching. I praise our youth and their youth leaders for taking on this task and I can’t wait to hear what God has laid on their hearts.

What is praise worthy in your life? My friend – a great auto mechanic – replaced the struts – all four – on my Explorer – and it rides wonderfully again. I praise his gift and his willingness to help me out – at a good price to boot!

What is praise worthy in your life? Of course – the Sunday School answer is – Jesus! Let’s take a look at the 150th Psalm. Psalm 150:1-6 – 1 Praise the Lord.  Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Praise God in the sanctuary – a place set-aside in your life to worship God. We might worship in a church building – but our sanctuary might be the great outdoors as well or even a closet. Praise God for His great power – His surpassing greatness. We are called to praise God with song – with instruments – with every breath we have. Praise God – praise the Lord!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
