God Will Bless Those Who Seek His Face

Psalm 119:2

Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart

IMG_0301I just became a granddad – a Pop – for the fourth time. It never gets old – believe me. My grandchildren – in their birth order – are named Vyrie – Justice – Scarlett – and the latest addition to the team – London. I love them each for different and same reasons (some day I will go into the reasons in another post).

London comes to us – some might say – as a miracle baby. Her parents tried for years to conceive – and yet were unable to do so. They went to the doctors and did all the things they were told to do (they had already gone to the heavenly doctor and never stopped going there first and foremost). They continued to pray. They continued to seek God’s face for their family. They had always planned to adopt – so Justice became part of our family.

Yost SistersHere is a video testimony from Shelly and Jason with Justice. I hope you can download it and watch. The most amazing thing for me as a dad – was watching Shelly and Jason battle with their feelings while fully trusting in the Lord. A Gethsemane Moment for them was to be faithful to God – even when it didn’t seem like their heart’s desire was going to happen. They tried for years to conceive and it just wasn’t happening for them.

Today’s passage reads this way – Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart – Psalm 119:2. If we keep God’s statutes – if we seek His face with all our hearts – God will bless us. I’m not saying God will always give us our heart’s desire – but God will bless us! Shelly and Jason – as far as a dad can tell – have sought after God with all of their hearts – and what seemed impossible – medically and even through time – came to fruition nine months ago and fully experienced yesterday!  The picture is of the two Yost sisters – Justice and London.

As a dad and pop – I feel so blessed to watch God work in their lives (and this is only one way God has blessed them as they remain faithful in seeking His face and desiring His grace). Hear me when I say – and not I but God’s Word – if we faithfully seek after God with all of our heat – God will bless us! Often with the desires of our hearts – but always with a blessing that will blow us away!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
