I Know That My Redeemer Lives

Job 19:25

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

IMG_0301No matter what this world throws at us – no matter how just or unjust the decisions of courts and tribunals – one thing is sure – I know that my redeemer lives.

Our world is filled with injustice. In Baltimore alone – shootings and killings occur at an alarming rate – often taking the lives of innocent bystanders. Injustice reigns in our communities.

Recently in Charleston – SC – nine innocent people attending a Bible study/prayer group were killed by a young man who was filled with Satan and evil. Injustice reigns in our communities.

Some would argue that the Supreme Court has acted beyond the scope of their duties with their recent ruling on same-sex marriage. Some would argue that they were protecting the rights and freedoms of some Americans. Will this secular law or ruling force the religious community to follow suit or be persecuted? Or will the secular rules be tolerant of the religious communities right to disagree with secular law? Injustice reigns in our communities.

Recently I spoke with a person who had been falsely accused of a crime. They lost their job and their reputation suffered greatly. Injustice reigns in our communities.

There is much talk about racism in our society. Talk abounds about the confederate battle flag – about white on black activity – about police procedures – about government officials. Injustice reigns in our communities.

Pick your issue. Pick your debate. Argue on Facebook for your view of social injustice. Injustice is a reality. Our society is not fair. Racism is still alive and well. The debate between civil rights and religious rights will never end. Crazed – Satan led and evil filled people will – in our free society – continue to do horrendous acts. People will continue to lie about others – if it furthers their cause. Injustice reigns in our communities.

What I cling to – what keeps me sane in an insane world – is today’s passage. When all around Job life was unfair and unjust – when catastrophic after catastrophic things happened in his life – he clung to today’s passage. Job 19:25 – I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

In the end – where we are right and where we are wrong – will all be sorted out! In the end – it is about trusting in our Redeemer – and knowing that He lives. I place my trust in the One who will – in the end – make it all right according to His wisdom and might!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
