Will We Be An Evangelist for Christ at Christmas?

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

112015 Ray McDonaldThe problem – as we have stated time and time again – is that families are under attack.  If we believe that this is indeed the issue – and that the solution is to reach the whole family for Christ – we need to be prepared when opportunities arise to do just that.  Christmas is such a time to reach the whole family.

We have a growing community around us in Laurel and if we believe they are typical – then their families are under attack by Satan and we believe Jesus is the answer.

Some easy invites are coming soon my friends.  On December 20th we will have a Blue Christmas Service for those who have lost loved ones and for whom Christmas may not be the most joyous of times.  The service is in our chapel at 6:30 pm.

Manger sceneAnother great opportunity always seems to be Christmas Eve.  A lot of people who do not normally attend worship in a church will search for a church to celebrate Christmas Eve.  This year we have three services – a service at 4 pm in the Sanctuary with communion and a children’s time with the pastor added. Another service will be held at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall – a Christmas Eve service with a contemporary feel and with communion as well.  The last service will be our traditional communion and candlelight service at 11 pm in the Sanctuary.

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”  Whom will you invite to join you this Christmas season?  Did you know that one of our current church leaders at First Church began to attend regularly because they were invited to worship by someone?  What opportunity will you avail yourself of to invite someone this Christmas?  I plan on inviting my neighbors and some friends from basketball and the golf course.  I will invite one of my favorite sports’ bloggers.

Check this video out!  And invite someone to worship God with you this Christmas!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
