112015 Ray McDonaldAs Christmas arrives (in just 2 weeks from today) – I’m often asked what would be a great gift to give or receive.  I’d like to suggest that an appropriate gift for young and old alike would be a new Bible.  It might be a person’s first Bible or it might be a study Bible for deeper thought and study. What is your favorite?  What would you suggest?  What translation has really helped you grow in your knowledge and understanding of Christ?

Please take the following survey – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZT59YMG.  I will share the results in the comments section in a week or so (in time to buy that special Christmas gift).

bibleBack in 2008 I ran a similar survey and the following was the results.

71% said NIV
8% said KJV
8% said NKJV
5% said the Message
2% said NASB
2% said AMP

The Word of God is useful to building us up in our knowledge and understanding of Christ.  I personally think the school system began to have issues when they took God out of the schools.  I remember praying the Lord’s Prayer and reciting the pledge of allegiance at the start of every school day and saying grace – as a class before we ate lunch together.  2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.  Let’s help our children and our families by sharing with them the Word of God this Christmas!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
