Bringing Christ to Someone

Luke 15:7

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

112015 Ray McDonaldI love this passage – and it reminds me how important it is to be an evangelical church – a church that draws people to Christ.  Jesus reminds us that He is the only way to the Father. John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

If we believe these words of Jesus – than we will be a church family – and individuals – who strive to reach everyone with Christ.  At First Church – it seems that we are in a season of people being saved!  During the revival and in recent Sundays – we have experienced a number of people coming to Christ.  We’ve had four adult baptisms and several conversions.  Praise the Lord!

Recently while at the cross praying for a new convert I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit so powerfully – I almost thought I heard the rejoicing in heaven as this person opened their heart to Jesus.  Have you ever experienced this feeling?

Who in our lives are we reaching out to these days?  Have we given up trying?  Please don’t – one of those who recently came to faith in Christ was one that many prayed for over the years.  Let us keep reaching out – keeping trying to present Jesus – in our lives and in our witness.  The heavens are waiting to rejoice when our loved one comes to Christ!  I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

This week we will have special services and unique opportunities to invite your family and friends to worship with us.  Bringing Christ to someone is very important.  Let us do our part and invite them to worship with us this week.

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
