Mourn With Those Who Mourn

Romans 12:15

mourn with those who mourn

Photo on 7-6-16 at 3.42 PMThe last two days have been hard for our nation. The pain of so many has cried out all over the news and social media. We have all felt the pain of loss – if we haven’t – we have no heart.

I have read much the last few days on social media and have watched hours upon hours of news reports. I’m not going to try to give my opinion in this space. I’m not going to point any fingers and put the blame on anyone – although there is plenty of blame to go around.

Today – I simply want to call our nation to mourn with those who mourn. Don’t try to get your point across. Don’t feel the need to respond to someone or one up someone on social media or in a conversation. Don’t try to defend your position or your peeps.

Today – please – just take some time to mourn with those who mourn. Two young men died the other day and last night five (as of now) police officers were gunned down and six others were wounded. There has to be a better way to live together.

Today – simply mourn with those who mourn please. We do need to solve the pain that our citizens feel and we need a safer place for our people – all people – to live. But today – simply mourn!

Today I tweeted – “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” Attributed to Mahatma Gandhi. If he didn’t say it, someone should have & we need to listen! We must find a solution to our nation’s problems – but today – I will simply mourn with those who mourn.

Just something to think about today as you go on your way!
