Day 26 of Lent 2018

Luke 22:19-20

19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. 20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Today is Day 26 of the 40 Days of Lent reading plan on www.youversion.com. It is an open day – a day to catch up on our reading plan. Go back and see if there are any days you have missed reading the daily reading. I appreciate this walk to the cross and pray that you do too. It has been a blessing for me to write and read each day as it pops up on my e-mail.

Holy week is coming – we pray that you will take time to attend the special services that week – Palm Sunday through Easter. We will remember Palm Sunday – Holy or Maundy Thursday – Good Friday – Easter Sunrise and Easter morning with services to worship our Lord!  Plan now to attend.

Today’s passage that I added as an opening reminds us about communion (which we will celebrate today – March 11th – instead of last Sunday – because I was on surgery leave). They are the words of our Lord concerning the sacrament of holy communion.

God bless you as you walk with Jesus to the Cross of Calvary!

Walk with me toward the cross. Deny yourself as I deny myself and let us draw near to Christ.

Just something for us to think about today as we go on our way.
