God Has A Plan For Each Of Us!

Philippians 1:6

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Thanks to all who responded to yesterday’s first devotional thought – since coming back from my staycation. I felt like something was missing from my daily walk with Jesus without writing them and I’m glad to be back. I’m also glad that they help some in their walk with Jesus.

There are so many thoughts running thru my head these days. Father’s Day has become hard for me – with the passing a number of years ago of my earthly father. Mother’s Day too with the passing of my mother. I have so many memories of my mom and dad. Days like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day bring them to the forefront. Tears ran down my cheeks often this weekend.

So – in the last few weeks – I have celebrated to life of a couple of 80+ individuals – a 90+ individual – and a 24 and 30-year-old. Life is not guaranteed – for any number of years. We never know when our life will end. What we do know is we have the here and now and need to use each moment to draw near to God and to serve Him.

Today’s passage speaks about God completing a good work in us – in the time He knows we have on this earth. Here’s today’s passage in partial context. Philippians 1:3–11 – 3 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

God has a plan for each of us. We should be about that plan – and using each day to accomplish God’s plan for us. We never know when our time will be up – so waiting to accomplish our plan till later might not be a good plan at all. God has a plan for each of us – are we fulfilling that plan?

Just something for us to think about today as we go on our way.
