God Is God – And We Are Not!

Job 38:4

Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

112015 Ray McDonaldSaturday I sent out an e-mail to the congregation about helping a family in Florida. This family lost everything in the recent storms. You can see the loss in this video.

This family – friends of a couple from our church (Steve and Natasha) – has lost everything. We talked about them in church today – and will receive funds for them at church along with clothes (sizes and such were sent Saturday). When our home was being built – I remember the foundation being dug and laid. It was deeper than needed – and wider too. Our builder wanted to make sure we had plenty of foundation! I think we could put an additional floor on if we desired – because the foundation is that strong.

When women begin their makeup in the morning – they often will lay a foundation – before putting the rest of their war paint on their faces. Those are the best non-sports examples I have this morning folks – makeup and my home’s foundation.

Here’s a sport analogy. The Ravens and other NFL teams are laying a foundation right now for the season ahead. They are practicing and establish relationships with each other – team chemistry – that will hopefully carry them through the coming season – well into February! Continue reading
