God Will Carry Us Through

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Rays HaircutI sent some of our staff an email yesterday. I told them it looks like 2-3 weeks and we might be starting to come out of this quarantine. I urged them to turn up the heat – to work even harder to connect with people and get ready to be back at the church building. We can see the end of the tunnel starting to get closer and closer.

Have you made plans for the end of the quarantine? After visiting your children and grandchildren and filling up on hugs – what is your game plan for getting back to work? Getting back to some form of normalcy?

Are we dreaming of ways to make things better when we return to life before the quarantine? I’ve read a few articles – written by friends and by others. My hope is that we will NOT return to the same old same old. My hope and even prayer is – that we will have a new norm – that we will have learned a few things from this pandemic – this quarantine. God Will Not Allow Us To Face Life Alone

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

God’s promise in today’s passage is not just for Israel – it is for all of God’s followers. No matter what we face God has promised to be with us. God has promised to go thru the thick and thin times – the good and bad times – of life.

The older I get the more I believe we all go thru tough times. Lean years or even decades – where life doesn’t line up the way we might think or dream. Our marriages – as perfect as they may seem to others – have tough seasons. Our children – even the ones that seem to have it all together – cause us pain and suffering. Even the person that seems to have it all together – has periods in their life when they face difficult times. Continue reading
