The Election Is Over – Jesus Is King!

James 1:2

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

RayMcDWell – when you read this devotional thought – the election will be over – or at least it should be (unless there are some more hanging chads or someone calls for a recount). I hope you voted dear readers. Some of us will be happy. Some of us will be sad. Some of us will be confused. Some of us will shake our heads. Some of us will be dancing in the streets. Some of us will feel downtrodden. Some of us will feel uplifted.

As I write this devotional thought I’m watching the early news as the polls are getting ready to close – starting with the East Coast and moving westward. How would you like to live in Hawaii – OK – most would say I’d love to live in Hawaii – except for Election Day – when the race is usually decided before you even get to vote – LOL (the West Coast also feels this way at times). Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

The market just hit all-time highs and I’m reading people who think a crash or correction is just around the corner. By the way – I agree that we should take precautions about a down turn in the market. I’ve taken precautions with a sell price on my stocks if they drop.

I know people that always seem to see the bad side of things. While listening to my favorite sports radio channel – you’d think the Orioles were in last place the way some people talk about their troubles and how they MUST trade for a starter. They’re actually in first place by two games and with a little improvement from their current starters – they just might finish in first. I happen to believe they will do better by keeping their young players and playing out this season with what they have currently in house. We’ve been burnt the last few years by trading young promising players for rentals! Continue reading

Rejoicing in the Lord!

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

82015 RayA song I use to love to sing – had a section of the song that went like this – Rejoice in the Lord, always, and again I say rejoice, rejoice in the Lord, always, and again I say rejoice.  Rejoice, rejoice, and again I say rejoice.  Rejoice, rejoice, and again I say rejoice. It can be sung in a round and we have several times at churches I have served.  It comes from today’s passage of Scripture.

Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

A saying I made up goes like this:  Happiness is circumstantially driven, while Joy is spiritually derived.  It is one of my favorite sayings. Continue reading
