God Has A Plan For Us

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

OK – I must admit it – I’m writing this devotion during the halftime of this year’s Super Bowl – and into the 3rd quarter. My team isn’t in the game – as a mater of fact – no team I care about is in the Super Bowl. I would love to watch the Ravens or the Redskins – but that didn’t happen this year. In High School I played in the Orchestra – the Pep Band – the Concert Band and the Marching Band. These bands were a conglomeration of different persons with different talents. When the director got us all on the same page and the same beat – we made some pretty good music. We won awards even for some of our efforts.

The same can be said about the sport teams I played on in High School. A group of different people – working toward a common goal – and we had a measure of success. I’m sure if you’ve been on any team or group – you may have experienced the same.

Churches are like this as well. Churches are made up of a collection of different people trying to make great music together – trying to achieve goals together. Continue reading
