Post More About Jesus

Psalm 98:4

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music

20140530-104833-38913743.jpgI was watching my Twitter and Facebook explode Monday night as Redskin and Cowboy fans were posting about their game with each other. The following morning – yes – I went to bed before that game was over – my feeds were full of Redskin fans gloating about their win in overtime. What I watched – it was a good game.

I understand the rivalry – and I understand that the Redskins aren’t having a good season and the Cowboys are doing well – and – even with a bad season – it turns into a good season when the Redskins beat the Cowboys. I understand that there are fans in our area that really think this rivalry is a big deal – large parties are based on these two games a year if you aren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the game.

I wonder why many folks aren’t as excited about worship as they are about the big game(s)? I wonder why my Twitter and Facebook feeds aren’t filled with lay people (often it is with pastor’s comments) acknowledging their attendance in worship (witnessing to their friends that they go to worship and where). I wonder who might get excited if we were more excited! I wonder what impact we might have on our friends on Facebook or those who follow us on Twitter if we posted more about our faith and our worship of God?

Today’s passage calls us to shout and burst into song and music when we worship God. Psalm 98:4 – Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music. Worship is not to be sedate. Reverence is giving God the glory and praising His holy name. Think about it and post more about Jesus!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
