Keep Sharing Your Witness

Isaiah 55:11

…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

We’ve been talking and sharing about Christian Discipline for several weeks in our sermons. You can listen to the services and sermons here. We covered these topics – Faith – Tithing – Private Worship – Public Worship – Study of the Word – Fasting – Prayer and this week we will deal with the topic Fellowship. This series isn’t meant to be all encompassing – but rather prick our hearts and cause us – during Lent – to did deeper in our walk with Jesus.

Today – I want to encourage us to continue to witness our faith in Christ. There are many ways to witness our faith. I sent the following text/email/Facebook post to my family and friends. I have a birthday coming up on March 4. I would love to have as many of my family and friends as possible to join me for worship at Trinity Church on March 3 at 10:30 AM. What a blessed gift that would be. The message that Sunday is the final message of our Christian Discipline series. The Sermon is titled “Fellowship”. What a great example of fellowship it would be to have many of my family and friends there on that Sunday.

I encourage others to do the same for their special days – like a birthday – Mother’s Day – Father’s Day – Easter – Christmas – Anniversaries – and others. Most of us don’t need more stuff – and this would be such a blessing – and wouldn’t cost our family or friends any money. My 6 children all attend other churches – my wife attends with them at times – but I’ve invited them to join me this coming Sunday.

Today’s passage reminds us that God’s Word will not go out from our mouths and come back void. When we witness our faith – God is at work. We are not responsible for the outcome – that is the Holy Spirit’s work. What we are responsible for is to witness our faith – to let our light so shine before others that they see Jesus in us – thru us – and at times – in spite of us.

Our slogan as a church in 2024 is – Serving Jesus More in ’24. Witness our faith is one way to serve Jesus more. We can witness our faith in so many ways. We can witness our faith to family – friends – even those we don’t know. We can pray with our family at a restaurant – that is a witness. We can invite folks to worship with us. We can show love and mercy to folks. We can let our children and others see us doing our daily devotions – and praying. So many ways to let our light shine.

We have a few weeks left during Lent. Let’s use that time to up our game – increase our witness for Jesus. Invite someone to worship with you Palm Sunday – March 24th. The choir will share an Easter Cantata that Sunday along with a message titled Welcoming Jesus. Invite someone to join you for the Community Meal on March 28th. We will celebrate Holy Communion at our tables that night – Holy Thursday. Invite someone to our Easter Sunrise Service on March 31st or the regular service at 10:30 am. Easter is one of the easiest times to invite someone to church. Even among those who don’t go to church on a regular basis – many often look for a church to attend on Easter.

Don’t hide your light under a bushel. Let your light (Jesus in you) before others – witness your faith to others. God’s Word will not go out and come back void!

Something for us to think about today as we go on our way!
