Don’t Stir Up Anger!

Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

20140530-104833-38913743.jpgCan you tell by the tone of a person’s voice if they are upset or not? Maybe by the words or phases they use? Maybe you can tell someone is upset by his or her body language. What does it make you feel like when someone is upset? Does it help or hinder your relationship with them? Does it impact your ability to communicate with them? How does it make you feel?

I bet most of us would rather deal with people when they are not angry or upset. I know I would – for sure. I bet others would rather deal with us when we are not angry. But how do we control anger? How do we keep situations calm and under control?

Proverbs is filled with great sayings and advice. One could even say – some wisdom is found in Proverbs! Have you read through them lately? I try to read through them everyday. I quote some of them on my Facebook page. Try reading through Proverbs and see if you don’t agree.

Today’s passage is one of the better sayings. Proverbs 15:1 – A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Words to live by dear readers. A gentle answer or demeanor will help in every situation! Don’t stir up anger – but rather – through a gentle answer – keep the mood calm and under control. Try it!

Just something to think about today as you go on your way.
